Carved Stone & Pearl Pieces
Handle these pieces with extra care, as they are handcrafted from natural gemstones, minerals and pearls. These materials are more delicate than precious metals and may chip or crack if dropped or subjected to impact. Avoid water, steam, sports, perfumes, cosmetics and harsh chemicals, and always remove your jewellery before cooking, cleaning, exercising or sleeping. Pearls are particularly sensitive to scratches, moisture and pressure, and should always be treated gently.
Gold or Silver Pieces with Set Stones
Pieces crafted from solid gold or silver with securely set gemstones are generally suitable for everyday wear. While occasional contact with water is unlikely to cause harm, we recommend avoiding prolonged exposure to harsh chemicals, chlorine, salt water and abrasive surfaces to preserve their finish and brilliance.
Cleaning
Keep your jewellery luminous with gentle care. Carved gemstones and pearls should be cleaned only with a soft, dry microfibre cloth, such as a glasses cleaning cloth. Gold and silver pieces with securely set stones may be cleaned using warm water, a small amount of mild soap and a soft toothbrush, then dried thoroughly with a lint-free cloth. Only solid gold or silver pieces with securely set durable gemstones should be cleaned using a small home ultrasonic cleaner.
Storage
Store each piece separately in its own pouch or jewellery box to prevent scratches and unnecessary wear. Carved gemstones, pearls and silver should never be stored loosely together, as they may scratch one another. Keep your jewellery in a cool, dry place away from prolonged direct sunlight, as some natural gemstones, including amethyst, rose quartz, citrine and fluorite, may gradually fade with extended UV exposure.

CRAFTMANSHIP & SOURCING
Design & Modelling
Every collection begins with Martina’s own ideas, hand sketches and traditional drawing techniques. Concepts are first explored on paper before being translated into jewellery through a combination of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary technology.
Around 80% of Martina’s designs are sculpted entirely by hand in wax, allowing each form to develop organically before a mould is created for casting. This process reflects her dedication to craftsmanship, artistry and detail while preserving the character and spontaneity of a handmade object.
More technically complex pieces, including intricate pavé settings and precise geometric forms, are developed using CAD to achieve the highest level of technical precision.
Once cast, every piece is carefully engraved, polished and finished by hand in Martina’s studio using traditional jewellery-making tools, ensuring it meets her exact artistic vision and craftsmanship standards.
Stone Setting
Some gemstone pieces are hand-set by Martina using traditional jewellery-making techniques, adapted and refined to suit her own distinctive design language. For intricate pavé work or designs requiring a particularly clean and precise aesthetic, she collaborates with master stone setters.
Gemstones & Diamonds
Diamonds are sourced through trusted stone dealers in Vancouver and through renowned jewellery centres in Mumbai and Jaipur. Coloured gemstones are responsibly sourced and carefully hand-selected, primarily in Jaipur and London.
Many gemstones are individually hand-carved and assembled in Martina’s studio into her signature mushroom-inspired forms. Martina works almost exclusively with natural gemstones. The only exception is the occasional use of lab-grown rubies, selected where they best complement the artistic vision of a design while allowing it to remain accessible at its intended price point.

Metals
Precious metals are responsibly sourced through trusted suppliers. Fourteen-carat gold is cast either in Slovakia or London, while 9-carat gold is primarily cast in London. Sterling silver pieces are cast in either London or Slovakia, depending on Martina’s location at the time of production.
As Martina frequently works between different countries, she collaborates with a trusted network of master craftspeople in each location, allowing every piece to benefit from specialist expertise while remaining true to her artistic vision.
Every piece is carefully finished by hand to ensure it meets Martina’s exact artistic vision and craftsmanship standards.
Packaging
Every piece is presented in Martina Kocianova’s signature mushroom-shaped wooden jewellery box and is typically accompanied by a handmade linen pouch.
The signature mushroom box was conceived and designed by Martina Kocianova. Early prototypes were developed in collaboration with Samuel Melek in Slovakia using locally sourced timber off-cuts. Today, the boxes are produced in carefully planned annual batches by a trusted workshop near Delhi, India.
For selected commissions, Martina also offers biodegradable mycelium jewellery boxes grown in Bratislava by Mycology Farm Drž Hubu, reflecting the brand’s ongoing commitment to thoughtful and environmentally conscious craftsmanship.
The linen pouches are handmade and naturally dyed with flowers by a community of women artisans in a village near Jaipur, India. Martina personally visited the workshop and chose to collaborate with the community after witnessing the exceptional quality of their craftsmanship and the positive social impact of their work.
Brand Identity
The visual identity, logo and emblem of Martina Kocianova were designed by Andrej & Andrej Studio in Bratislava.

Natural gemstones are carefully hand-selected from trusted suppliers, while precious metals are responsibly sourced through long-term casting partners in London, Slovakia and India. Ring Sizing
To ensure the perfect fit, we recommend having your finger professionally measured by a local jeweller, as finger size can vary depending on temperature, time of day and other natural factors.

Most rings can be resized for £60, provided they have not been worn or damaged. Certain designs, including eternity bands, heavily engraved rings or rings featuring specific gemstone settings, may not be suitable for resizing. If you are unsure, please contact us before placing your order.
